DESCRIPTION:This session will feature Dalcroze Eurhythmics activities set to the music from the movie, “Wicked” by Stephen Schwartz. Dalcroze Eurhythmics uses the body as the first instrument and engages students in purposeful movement. Music concepts to be taught from the score include steady beat, subdivision, changing meter, rests, and expression. As students physicalize music concepts, a deeper understanding of those concepts is created. The connection of pop culture serves as a motivational tool in musical learning.
