SUMMARY:Creating a Culture of Movement with Dalcroze Eurhythmics
DESCRIPTION:This hands-on session will provide activities and information about successfully establishing movement as a norm in the music classroom. A variety of Dalcroze Eurhythmics activities will be experienced in a sequential manner to set up the students’ appropriate behavior and acceptance of movement in the classroom, as well as meeting the students’ developmental stages.  Specifically, musical concepts addressed will be steady beat, meter, phrasing, durations, and expression.  A diverse selection of music will be used in this session.  The connections between the Dalcroze philosophy and Social Emotional Learning will be presented.\n
